Honeymoon (Part I- Wedding Night & August 9 2008)

Ryan and I spent our wedding night in Baltimore, Maryland, and boarded our cruise ship in the Baltimore Harbor, the next morning.

Upon leaving our reception, we headed straight towards Baltimore.

We had originally thought that having the car “decorated” would be terrible and we even thought about hiding the car somewehere so that no one could write on it or tie beer cans to it, etc.  But, our car was decorated and it was awesome!  We spent the enjoyed getting honks and waves and thumbs up from the passers by on the interstate.  It was a lot of fun!  In case you didn’t see the Wedding Book, I made for Ryan, this is what our car looked like when we left our reception:

Along the way, to Baltimore,  we decided to stop in Charlestown, West Virginia to check out the racetrack and casino. I had never visited Charlestown.

Similar to the attention the car got, we were quite celebrated during our pitstop in Charlestown. I suppose it was fairly obvious that I was wearing a wedding dress.   It was really nice to get actually “wear” my wedding dress and enjoy all of the congratulatory feedback from everyone we met.

We had a good time, we walked around the casino, got a beer and hotdog and watched a race.  We probably should have bet,  we would have had there been a number 8 horse.

;)

This is the Charlestown track:

As we were preparing to hit the road again, the sun was setting, we chose to stay and enjoy the sunset over the track:

Isn’t Ryan adorable?

We arrived in Baltimore quite late, and didn’t waste much time getting to our room. . .

We stayed at Henderson’s Wharf, Fells Point, Baltimore, Maryland.

It was awesome!

Then took our coffee out on the dock and watched the boats and birds.

It was a beautiful morning!

Then it was time to board the cruise ship;  so, we headed around the harbor to the port, excited about our cruise to Bermuda!

Well, I was hoping to at least get through the 1st day of our honeymoon, but this post is getting quite long, I will begin Honeymoon (Part II) with our ship boarding experience. . .
